Hi @, It is a problem with Marketing Department of Quicken, thinking it needs to hide the reality of the change from Ownership of Quicken to New Owners. The Subscription length in the past has been 3 and a half years Support of Quicken, once Quicken has been released to April 30, of every year. Now New Owners want to recoup the money they invested in Quicken. So the Subscription length has been shorten to 1 or 2 Years from Date of Activation, depending on where you buy the product from, 3 extra months, like from Amazon.com. It is Quicken Subscription, not Quicken 2018, but marketing doesn't like the term Subscription or Membership, Hence the Year, instead. Intuit still owns the Name 'Quicken'. Short story.there is NO Quicken year version any more.
Apr 23, 2018 - When Mac Quicken 2018 was announced as subscription only. With their marketing: Quicken 2018 is not a typical software subscription,. Quicken today announced the launch of Quicken 2019, the newest version of its popular finance and budgeting software for PC and Mac. Quicken 2019 introduces web access for the first time, designed.
The subscription product of Quicken (started in 2017, but commonly referred to as 'Quicken 2018') is a continuous work 'in progress'. Instead of having a termination date of April 30 plus 3 years of the year version, the subscription product terminates on the anniversary of when your subscription started (1 year, 2 years or 27 months from download and registration). The Quicken software itself is consistently being upgraded and updated.
Basically, I'm guessing you won't see anything new that's earth shattering, but that could change as new features could be added, but aren't the highest priority as of now. And as 'everyone' gets on board with the subscription, 'everyone' theoretically will then be on the latest and 'greatest' version of Quicken.
Once Quicken 2017 terminates April 30, 2020, then all active Quicken owners will be on the subscription plan, all of them will get updates and all of them will be on the same supported software. Also, if you go to HELP, About Quicken you'll see that the software is just listed as Quicken.NOT Quicken 2018.
So, to answer, there won't be a 'major' release date in October of Quicken 2019.and there is no Quicken 2018, 2019, 2020, etc. It's just Quicken now.

That said, many will likely see this pricing as reasonable. Here’s how it breaks down:.

Amazon has 27-month subscriptions for the two-year prices listed above (, ). Following up on geoduck’s thoughts: I used to run a Windows VM to use Quickbooks on my Mac because the Mac version of QB lagged behind the Windows version. Once Intuit tried to catch up the Mac version, they change the formats making the Mac and Windows version incompatible.
This caused problems with my accountant. Last year, I started using Quickbooks online.

Fewer Mac people use Quicken. Quicken figures they aren’t making back their development costs. They let the Mac version drop farther behind. More Mac users jump ship. Quicken goes to a subscription model for software that is way way behind both the Mac version of Quicken, and packages from other vendors. The argument that this is to help fund development falls on deaf ears.
More Mac users wave the middle finger bye-bye. Quicken for Mac is dropped with the manufacturer citing “low interest and sales”. If you Read more ».
